Katy & Ben: A match Made in Chelsea

Forget Millie and Professor Green, Katy & Ben were the loved-up stars of Chelsea last summer! They tied the knot at the historic Wren Chapel, part of the Royal Hospital, Chelsea and their nuptials were lit up by blazing sunshine and blue skies - perfect conditions for this sophisticated London wedding.

The proceedings commenced under the impressive domed ceiling designed by Sr Christopher Wren, with images of cherubs and angels (painted by Sebastiano Ricci in 1714) gazing down on the bride and groom. The atmosphere was uplifting as the chapel choir sang, surrounded by beautiful flowers carefully arranged by Ron, one of the Chelsea Pensioners. Katy's mother proudly walked her down the aisle to the groom, who was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his glamorous bride.

Katy was resplendent in a floor-length white dress, by Caroline Castigliano, cleverly incorporating a gorgeous lace bolero, and tastefully accessorised with pearl drop earrings and a simple yet stunning pearl necklace. Katy's hair was styled by Michael Van Clarke and her make-up by Jenna West.

There was a very feminine theme to this wedding, with the five bridesmaids wearing elegant, floor-length soft pink satin dresses. Attention to detail was picked up in the pink ties of the groomsmen and the bridal bouquet, which featured pale pink rosebuds nestled amongst the white – artfully designed by Wild About Flowers.

The newlyweds departed for their next destination in style – in a blue 1952 vintage Rolls Royce (provided by Lord Cars) for a suitably glamorous arrival at One Great George Street, Westminster, where the next part of their celebration took place. The guests' ride was quintessential London – a couple of traditional Red Route Master buses – in which they sipped on the couples' home-made 'Fisher's lemonade' and got into the party mood!

The whole day was expertly crafted by the talented team at Flutterfly Events, led by Erika Unbehaun and executed by the charming and creative Nadia (Weddings by Nadia). So much thought went into the design of the reception, from the London-themed table settings to the cute macaron favours by Anges de sucre, the ever-entertaining photo booth supplied by Picture Blast and the original white bespoke letterbox into which guests could pop a note. A quirky caricature picture of the happy couple was also on display for guests to sign as a memento. The traditional tiered wedding cake was a stunning centrepiece, designed by  the Abigail Bloom cake company and accentuated the floral decorations in the grand dining room.

After the wedding feast it was time to make merry on the dance floor. A jazz band from the Royal Academy of Music played first then made way for 'Hot Rocks' who really got everyone into dance mode! All in all, a wonderful celebration of love, London-style, and a wedding to remember!
